Revolancer closes pre-seed funding round
I am very excited to announce that Revolancer has secured £150k in pre-seed funding, led by top London-based venture capital firm SFC Capital.
Also investing in this round is the former head of Europe for Morgan Stanley, Edward Falzon, who we will be working closely with the team as a strategic advisor.
Our mission
We connect ambitious business with skilled freelance talent.
Our mission is to pull down the barriers to entry of growing a small business, and making an income from your digital skills.
Where we started
Revolancer started as a University dorm-room project in January 2021, founded by Karl Swanepoel. Following initial development of the idea, we entered in and won both main prizes in the annual InvEnterPrize startup competition.
Once initial funding was secured, we expanded our team to include co-founders Skye Brady and Kinga Mijal, and strategic advisors Mat Braddy (founding CMO of Just Eat), and Dan Swygart (founder of Alpacr).
We boot-strapped our way to launch, and worked with a group of beta users to test our platform, which is now live – Revolancer Marketplace.
Where we’re going
With this pre-seed funding round, we aim to grow and scale our tested and validated platform to as many new businesses and freelancers as possible.
Fortunately, we’re in a position where all of our technical development is completed in house, resulting in faster turnaround times, and tech expenses orders of magnitude lower than most other startups.
We’re incredibly grateful to have already helped a number of businesses access skilled talent, and we’re very excited for the next steps in this journey.
